Privacy Policy for Torus

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Torus does not collect any data. There is no account to create, nothing is uploaded to a server, and no analytics or tracking of any kind is present in the app. Every photo you choose and every 3D model you generate stays on your device.

Photos and camera

Torus asks for access to your camera and photo library so you can supply a photo to convert into a 3D model. That image is read only when you pick or capture it, and it is processed entirely on your device. Photos are never transmitted anywhere, and Torus does not read your photo library in the background or without your action.

The models you create

3D models generated by Torus are written to storage on your device. Models you save to the in-app library remain there until you delete them. Nothing you create is uploaded, shared, or visible to anyone else unless you deliberately export a file and share it yourself using the system share sheet.

How the reconstruction works

The neural network that turns your photo into a 3D model runs locally, on the Apple Neural Engine and GPU of your device. There is no server performing the reconstruction, which is why Torus continues to work with no network connection at all.

Network activity

Torus makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity associated with the app is handled by Apple:

What Torus does not do

Children's privacy

Torus is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children either.

Third-party components

Torus builds on TripoSR, an open-source 3D reconstruction model released by Tripo AI and Stability AI under the MIT License. It runs entirely on your device and transmits nothing.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, this page and the app's privacy information on the App Store will be updated to match before the change ships.
